My name is Holly Meiklejohn. I am an artist, designer, and an all-round okay kind of person. Since graduating from Painting & Printmaking for Glasgow School of Art in 2018, I have continued thinking, painting and drawing and taught myself how to utilize Adobe Illustrator and Fresco, where I create my design work.
The work reflects on stereotypes, ideals, and mundanity, using drawing, painting and digital media as a vehicle. I am a collector of images, gathering material from a range of different sources - stock photos, religious imagery, vintage knitting patterns, adverts, social media, etc. Staged, awkward figures come into play, questioning our aspirations. Engaging with a disquieting humour, the aim is to unsettle and seduce with these darkly comical characters.
Any outsourced printing is all done in UK and all packaging used is biodegradable. I also almost exclusively drink oat milk. So please, go and buy something.
